About DBS

Diversified Business Services is a new business consulting and services company in Tyler, although it has been decades in the making. I thought up the name sometime in the 1970's, as a reflection of the complexities of managing a small business. It was also in the 70's that I clipped a piece from a newspaper or magazine that put it succinctly, that success in business is largely dependent on people being good managers in all areas of their business.

The skills needed to manage are even more diverse now than they were 35 years ago. The intricacies involved in running a small business have grown considerably since then, through the introduction of the personal computer and into the expansion of the internet. The mission of DBS is to find and improve those areas that can be better managed, and integrate the functions of the company into a viable organization.

We are not strictly guided by what is best for the bottom line. The principles that guide DBS also involve doing what is right for the company, its clients, and its employees. It is my belief that respect for the lives of others is crucial to being successful, and that these principles are in the end what is best for each individual company and society.
