Consultation - How It Works

  1. Overview - During an initial visit, I will look at various areas to see if there are problems that I can identify. Generally, there is no cost involved in this initial overview. This may take 1-2 days.
  2. Presentation Proposal - Following the overview, I will develop a study plan, and make a presentation where I propose what areas to study, what I hope to find out, and some considerations. After the overview, the problems may be too big or complex, and I may decline to do an extensive study.
  3. Contract - After the proposal, a contract will be developed, either individually or jointly, where areas of study are defined and decide how far to go initially. The contract may include the following.
    • Description of the study.
    • Description of anticipated results.
    • Initial expected timeframe for the study.
    • Cost summary including:
Cost of the study or cost range if not a fixed cost.
Implementation costs (DBS only) if included. Does not include other implementation costs of the company.
      Fee schedule.
    • Guarantees or disclaimers.
    • Logistic requirements are summarized.
    • Confidentiality and licensing agreements.
  4. Logistics - You will need to arrange access to information and areas for both the initial overview, the actual study and implementation if that is included. In some cases, I may need to actually work in the areas to best study it. You may or may not want to make my visits public.
  5. Study - During the study I will gather and compile information in the targeted areas.
  6. Recommendations -
At the conclusion of the study, I will present my findings. Note that, unlike high end consultants, I will not prepare a 300 page book of findings, considerations, unless you specifically request extensive documentation. I will only make specific recommendations for specific areas that I anticipate that you will actually make. Also unlike high end consultants, comparisons with industry standards will be limited. My focus will be on finding the best way to do things.
  7. Implementation - If implementation was a part of the initial contract, we will outline the steps to making the changes necessary.
